Outside
In the community, New Leaf – New Life operates a Transition Support Center. Many people are released from jail with nothing but the clothes they were wearing when arrested. New Leaf – New Life works together with clients to develop and reach their goals and make a successful transition.

TRansition SUpport Center
People released from incarceration are welcomed at our Transition Support Center (TSC) located at 1010 S. Walnut St., Suite H where we provide short-term & long-term assistance, specifically:
- Immediate help (e.g., emotional support, help in accessing social services, clothing, hygiene products)
- Job counseling (e.g., resume building, job searches, computer skills training)
- Casework (e.g., addiction counseling & supervision)
For some questions about services we do & don't provide, see our FAQ page.
Re-Entry Mentorship
The Re-Entry Mentorship Program provides more in-depth peer support to folks recently released from incarceration. With the help of one-on-one support from a Re-Entry Mentor, participants do a needs assessment, build action plans, acquire necessary resources, and receive education on staying sober, crisis intervention, and trigger identification. Our Re-Entry Mentors are staff members who have lived experience with both re-entry and recovery. Interested participants are encouraged to stop by or call our Transition Support Center post-release to get connected with one of our Re-Entry Mentors.
Re-Entry Collective
The Re-entry Collective is a group of individuals passionate about finding systemic solutions for individuals re-entering society. All are welcome to attend. We meet at the TSC at 1010 S. Walnut St., Suite H:
The Re-entry Collective has been instrumental in providing resources such as the New Leaf Resource Guide 1.7.pdf - UPDATE: we have a resource guide for COVID-19 to add to the original guide.
- First Sunday of the month at 3:30 PM: planning & organizing session (all welcome)
- Second Sunday of the month at 3:30 PM at NLNL: broader public meeting or workshop
